Well, video games has correlated to a drop in violence, specifically among the youth. Of course I am sure at some point, someone will show in some fashion how it is related to something else, but for now, this post has done a great job of showing how statistically crime has fallen as video games have stepped up in prominence. As to the religion is bad part of the post title, this article here has a great explaination of how the Islamic religion is flawed as a well as going...
As a recovering Democrat... I am interested to see the fall out of this one. John Edwards has dropped out of the race of the Democratic Nomination, so it is almost a given that there will be a woman or a black man as the Democratic Presidential Candidate. So, what does that mean? Well, we will find out one way or another if America is ready to move on into the future past it's history. I do not believe it will happen. Should Clinton win, then I believe she has a better chance o...
http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/geekend/?p=1085 Well in our latest game, Street Smart Detroit, there are at least 2-3 of these that we fail against, but then again it is a very indie style game, plus there is a lot it is trying to adress, so this time, oh well. I disagree with the AO game comment as well, since well, it just doesn't make much business sense... at least until the Porn Industry gets into it... perhaps we need a Porn Sim game... your the director and all... HA, that woul...
So I can across the following... very interesting insight, of course some of it is ageless youth angst of course... Rich --> post... Alright people. A few of my friends and I have been talking, and we have created a list of things that people do that deserve to die. I figure I would post them here. I hope everyone that reads this, and does any of these things, thinks about their lives, and how much they suck. If you use any of these for any reason, give proper credit, or I will have yo...
"Now Brandon Sanderson has signed on to complete A MEMORY OF LIGHT, with scheduled delivery of the manuscript in December 2008 and a planned publication date of Fall 2009. “The Wheel of Time turns and ages come and pass. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow. Let the Dragon ride again on the winds of time…” I just read this and found out Rober Jordan, author of the Wheel of Time fantasy series has died. I have eagerly awaited his books every year, initially su...

Listening to the Link Bobby Blackwolf podcast show today, he mentions how Portal was submitted to the IGF and one of the judges worked for Valve, saw the game and said we need to hire this team! So, then Portal gets signed and now is released on Steam (I don't subscribe to it) so you really should think about that a bit if your an indie developer!
I came across this on a ColdFusion discussion list I belong to and it was interesting to see that there is an Adobe specific OSS hosting solution. Of course M$ has Codeplex.com so it is only fair I guess... just adding to the RIA controversy... is it Internet or Interactive... seems to me the later one is more appropriate all around.
You would think that with the depressed economy in Michigan that the government would woo game developers the way Georgia is... but noooo they won't. At least that was the attitude 2-3 years ago when they tried to pass a law making it illegal to sell M-rated games, a crime actually, to underaged kids. Just sad really... no hope in the future... the Big 3 are getting pummeled by Honda and Toyota, so even that is going the way of the dodo bird.
As I was recently an Adjunct Professor at IADT-Detroit Link this conference sounds like it is one to be attended by those looking for innovative ways to connect to their students. Perhaps one day. Here is a post from one of the presenters, who is out of Ann Arbor Link
The production studio is out of Clinton Township, aka Metro Detroit! Just amazing. So much cool stuff is made here, yet the exposure for it isn't all that grand. As a side note, I launched my newest podcast, http://www.detroitcreativetalent.com which will be focusing specifically on individuals like the folks at Greenestuff Inc. as well as a variety of others doing wonderful things for my hometown area of Metro Detroit!
The Detroit Metro area has been on the move the past couple of years trying to get with the 21st century and move beyond just the Automotive Sector. There are a LOT of high tech businesses and talent in the Detroit Metro area (Ann Arbor sort of included here) and there are a LOT of amazing people in the area doing some amazing things. Stardock is just one of those companies. Ever watch an automotive commercial on TV? A LOT of them are made right here in Detroit! Anyhow, take a look a...
Of course it is funny that I post it here on JoeUser.com but still, it has some relevant content related to blogging! Oh and you can easily import your blog posts into wordpress from another blog... although I have yet to do it with a JU account, so I don't know how well it works.
See all we have to do is wait a while, keep digging and something will be found to take car of the bad stuff of the world!
