First things first! Microsoft held a free Video Game Development Webcast, which ended May 26th. http://www.microsoft.com/events/ser...dnvideodev.mspx The webcasts are still up on the MSDN site and you can watch them after the fact. Digipen also have them in PDF and source code at their webiste: http://www.digipen.edu/webcast You need the April 2004 release of the DirectX SDK and 2.0 of the .NET framework. Here is my short review, although I haven't actually completed watch...
Upon listening to the Audio books on John Adams and Benjamin Franklin, I am somewhat struck back by how much time people used to use towards correspondance with others. I believe this is becoming a lost art, even with email and blogging. It used to be once upon a time, not long ago, where people would write each other letters on all varieties of subject. Now adays it seems that people just don't have time do it like that anymore or at least I do not seem to have the time. It seems like ...
I recall reading or hearing about someone, who said: What needs said has already been said by someone smarter than I. Therefore the Quote! Post your favorite sites for quotes here.
To me the Rebulican party is about Big Money, coporate and conservative. It is generaly considered (in my view and general) to be the white party. The Democrat party is about the Little man, the poor, the lower income or middle class. It is also generaly the party of those, who are Minority, such as black americans and hispanic. Of course I am white boy, so what the hell do I know? Anyway to my love of Irony: The Democratic party originally was the party of the Old South and the...
This was linked off the Libertarian party and the site may be inclined towards that party, but it is still a fun little quiz. Amazing how many can still turn out to be middle of the road though! Which is where I tend towards verse Libertarian, which I was lumped into. I answered middle of the road to most of them, since I didn't have a well formed oponion on some of those concepts.
As I have recently started listening to Audio Books, I recently have listened to two of note on Ben Franklin (Complete) and John Adams (presently). I am reminded and astonished at these two figures from US history. I love history and therefore enjoy it all the more. Where to start on my own thoughts of them and the subject. It makes me think of what I am about and what they are about. It is amazing how very many of the statements they faced then, stated and put to paper are still being...
I know this looks like it could be 1990, but it was actually from May 99. It was funny that my coworker showed me this picture just recently with my previous post on Hybrids. As to the price, well Clinton was in office and had opened up the National Oil Reserves, oh ya the bubble hadn't burst yet either.
Way back in the day, there was one of those totally awesome RPGs called Autoduel, which was based on a board game by Steve Jackson called Car Wars. Well, NCsoft Link is making a game, which is what I would envision an Autoduel remake!. I just read the review of the game in Computer Gaming World magazine and it looks to be an almost right on knock off of the SJG classic! Looks like custimizable cars and even arenas to fight in later on. Now the question is, will there be an RPG ...
Well, I read this decent article on Casual Game development over at Link Gamasutra and it was quite an insight. If you are interested in making small games, this is a great place to start! In the article, there was a great link to a page, which breaks down Flash! Here it is: Link Of course if Flash wasn't so expensive! I haven't used it, so I don't know how well it works. I only have a bit of experience with Java, but maybe after I play with both.... ah well. Thought some...
I graduated High School in 1990 and the gas prices were about a $1.00 a gallon in America. 15 years later, it is over $2.00. What will the price be in another 15 or even less, say 6-7? I would expect it to go up to at least $3.00 a gallon within 5-7 years, since China is exponentially growing as a market for new cars and there are obviously dwindling reserves. The tale looks grim in 20+ years from now. America will be in dire straights, although Europe will shine, due to their public tra...
This issue has been addressed over and over again elsewhere as well as similiar attempts agains other forms of entertainment. The bill in question is SB 249, introduced in the Michigan Senate by Hansen Clarke (et al) and referred to the Judiciary Committee for action. The State Senate is out on Easter break right now, but will be back soon. It is a shame as parents will buy what their kids want any way. Why do some states and people want to legislate a parent's duty as a parent?

Well, I am sickened, probably like the rest of you by the fiasco of what the Politicians have been doing with the publicity surrounding the Terry Shivo case. As to my opionion as to if she should die or not, I am torn. On one side, I respect her parents wishes to see their daughter live and would like to see them succeed. On the other, if Shivo's husband has pursued this through all the 10+ (15?) years, doesn't it make sense that he truly feels it is her wish and what she wanted. ...
Well, I have recently started listening to Audio Books and so far they are the greatest thing to reducing Road Rage! I have listened to: The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown - very good. Poor Dad, Rich Dad - ok, but about money! The Golden Years by Gore Vidal - actually pretty poor, but interesting, when it gets into some history conspiracy theorys and related to how it used to be back in the day. I would like to hear from everyone what types they like and perhaps the best they have list...
Well I just finished book 10 and it was decent, although I would have liked more action and fighting. As to Robert Jordan's saga, I hope he finishes it before he dies! I started reading the series in like 1991! I love the series and recommend it to fantasy fans.
Well I went hunting a couple of weeks ago and was bragging about the new gun my dad bought me, a 12 gauge Remington 1100. A guy I work with asked if I wanted to join a Trap shooting league. I did and shot for the first time this past weekend in the league. My impressions are as follows: Lots of fun. Different and harder. Shoulder hurts a tad the day after. Got to see some very, very cool guns and now know the meaning of cool gun! Like joining a bowling league, but you don...
