Well I went firearm deer hunting in the great white north or at least the partially great white north around Grayling Michigan.

It was my father and an uncle of my fathers. We hadn't been hunting in about 14 years and it was one hell of a pleasure!

Ya we didn't get any, but considering we decided to go with less than 1 week before opening day and we went the last 4 days of the 15 day period in November, it turned out pretty damn nice.

Went to the Casino in Traverse City one night and my dad won 500+ which paid for the whole trip! Saw about 6 deer the whole time, but always driving around. Ah, I can't wait to go next year already!

I would love to spend much more time up north, but modern working doesn't jive with this, so oh well, I can pine for next year. Probably the best part was going into the woods as a light snow was falling before dark, sitting down and leaving the woods with ~1" more snow than when I went in! Oh ya, it was cool driving the 4x4 on all the 2 tracks and some not so 2 tracks.

Anyone have their own stories this year?
