A woman or black man... history is made! Is America Ready?

As a recovering Democrat... I am interested to see the fall out of this one.

John Edwards has dropped out of the race of the Democratic Nomination, so it is almost a given that there will be a woman or a black man as the Democratic Presidential Candidate.

So, what does that mean?

Well, we will find out one way or another if America is ready to move on into the future past it's history. I do not believe it will happen. Should Clinton win, then I believe she has a better chance of defeating the Republican nominee. Why, well, women are not as much of a minority than African Americans are. Perhaps even 50%. I do however believe even she will lose. I personally believe there are too many bigots out there against women to allow her to win, even if they love Bill. I predict, should she win, then the end results will be Democrats = 38% to the Replicans 72% of the vote.

As to Obama, same deal, there is still too much racism in our country and I believe he will lose as well. There is also an x-factor, which is really disturbing and I do not know how much of an effect it will have, should Obama win the nomination of the Dems. It is that of his name and past history specifically related to Islam. As I have recieved just a bit of email 'spam' from friends and family, which show Obama in a bad light, like not putting his hand over his heart durin the Pledge of Allegience or the mention of his connections to Islam (through his father and eduction as a kid, to his signing on as a Senator with his hand on the Qu'ran). I do not know how much of this 'spam' is true. It really doesn't matter though. MOST people will not research on wheather it is true or not. Most people will believe it, so perception is almost reality. This country is no way near ready for someone that follows even the most moderate tenents of the Qu'ran or has studied it in some degree, to be elected as President, even it is somewhat of a falsehood. If it is true, then Obama is doomed to fail and fail hard. 9/11 is just too recent of a memory to allow this, even for remotely moderate Christians. So if Obama wins the nomiation the results will be Dems = 32%, Reps = 68 %

This is my just my opionion and has very little basis in fact. It is based upon my relationships and what I see in the world, but look around and ask yourself about some of the points I raised above. I liked John Edwards and would actually have seriously considered voting for him over an independent.

So the Republicans win again.

back to the original post......I think that Hillary and Obama will lose. Not due to sexism or racism, but because they don't represent the majority of Americans. There politial stand will bring them to defeat, not gender or color.
