When I signed up, I was able to get some free points, which I then used to 'buy' a game: Heroes of Might & Magic: Quest for the Dragon Bone Staff for the Playstation 2.
Got it within a week of 'buying' the title. SO, how does this work and how do they make money. Well, you can pay them $1 per point, which is what you use to order games on their site. You can also sell your game on their site, which is another way to gain points.
If you have the points, then you don't have to pay anything to 'buy' a title. If you sell something, then you have to ship the title, which is where it costs like a buck to send it to someone using Barter Bee's packaging, which is insured as well. I believe you can send it on your own seperately, but I am just now getting into selling.
